Raleigh Kuala Lumpur Solar Project at Kampung Cerewes

Raleigh Kuala Lumpur support by Gear Up Venture (Logistic Partner) with the help of SPONSOR has manage to secure funds to provide solar powered lighting and fridge to a small community of 18 houses in Kampung Cerewes. The village is located 7 hours away from Kuala Lumpur into the indigenous community of Pos Titom in Pahang. Currently, the villagers are relying on generator and kerosene oil lamp to light up their houses at night. Our aim with the communities is to develop a two-year plan to uplift their livelihood through providing basic infrastructure like solar powered system (lighting, electrical appliances etc), clean water and sanitation. For starters, we will kick start the whole journey with installing basic lighting for them.

Volunteers are expected to stay together with the community for three nights throughout the project and assist in installing solar system under the supervision of our technical team. The general community are of Semai ethnicity, and are able converse in BM. The living condition in the village is bare basics with no luxuries.
Water: Water supply is limited and subject to daily rainfall. The river water is fit for bathing and washing.
